Victoria Rosa-Garcia, of Bridgeport, is the new director of the Welch Experience at Sacred Heart University’s Jack Welch College of Business.
In her new role, Rosa-Garcia will manage a number of student initiatives on campus, such as the Welch Corporate Structure, a student-run corporation that executes yearly Welch College of Business goals. Other initiatives include the Welch Mentors, a program through which upperclassmen mentor incoming freshmen; the student-run ice cream shop, called The Peak; and the Mind Your Business pre-fall program, which takes place each year before the fall semester begins. She also will serve as a first-year student adviser, assisting undeclared business freshmen and sophomores with their academic scheduling and decisions.
“I am excited to be in this new role and am passionate to serve our students,” said Rosa-Garcia. “I want to help the next generation of students obtain the success they are destined to achieve.”
Before joining the team at the Welch College of Business, Rosa-Garcia worked in SHU’s marketing and communications division for three years. She also is a graduate student, studying for a master’s degree in digital marketing at the Welch College of Business.
Rosa-Garcia earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications from the University of Connecticut and has more than 10 years of experience mentoring college-aged students in the workplace and overseas.
