Sacred Heart University now offers an online certificate in digital marketing. While the University already had a graduate certificate in digital marketing program at its Stamford campus, this will be the first and only fully online program in the Jack Welch College of Business (WCOB).
“This program will benefit those who have started a career in marketing and need a refresher on digital skills,” says WCOB Associate Dean Anca Micu. “The online option benefits students who work full-time and need the flexibility to take classes on their own time, rather than at set times every week.”
Although online, the new program will provide an applied, hands-on approach, and students will gain leading-edge skills for a career in digital marketing, according to Micu. The certificate comprises four courses: marketing management, digital marketing, marketing analytics and a choice between introduction to big data and social media marketing. “The marketing analytics course includes preparation for certification in Google Analytics. Students will sit for the certification in the course,” Micu explains. “The intro to big data course uses the SAS platform, and the social media marketing course is taught by a partner at a digital marketing agency.”
Beyond earning the certificate, students may choose to apply the 12 credits from this program toward SHU’s master’s degree in digital marketing or master’s in business administration with a concentration in marketing.
