McKnight Honored with National and Regional Awards

Attains career-high points total in SHU’s triple-overtime win against Bryant University

Men’s basketball sophomore guard Quincy McKnight added to his weekly award total Jan. 17 with the Met Basketball Writers Association Division I Player of the Week Award. He also was named the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week by the United States Basketball Writers Association.

In addition to these accolades, McKnight was chosen as the Northeast Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season and the Lou Henson National Player of the Week by CollegeInsider.com. He also earned a spot on NCAA.com’s All-Week Team.

McKnight averaged 35 points per game in SHU’s wins over St. Francis College, Brooklyn, and Bryant University, R.I. He scored a career-high 44 points in SHU’s 112-110 triple-overtime win at Bryant, delivering 35 points in the second half and overtime. McKnight also added nine rebounds and six assists.
