Sacred Heart University has been ranked one of the best colleges for private scholarships to students, according to LendEDU, a student loan provider.
Using data licensed from Peterson’s, an information source for students headed to college, LendEDU calculated the average amount of non-need-based private scholarships per student at 1,000 schools across the country. Sacred Heart ranked 145 out of the 1,000.
That was great news for Julie Savino, executive director of financial assistance. “It’s nice to know we ranked in the top 15 percent of 1,000 colleges,” Savino said. “Our financial aid staff has been promoting scholarship searches. We are motivated to continue to offer these opportunities to our students and hope to provide more students with scholarships to fund their education here.”
LendEDU’s goal is to help students save money through transparent pricing and education. According to its findings, on average, students winning the most private scholarships are coming from many small to mid-sized schools, like SHU.
