To the SHU family,
It’s an exciting time to be at Sacred Heart University, as we are experiencing unprecedented growth. We have more than 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and we are adding more programs and buildings than ever before in our history. Despite that, our core remains the same: we are steadfastly committed to providing students with new educational experiences and real-world opportunities to serve, grow and prosper in their faith and in our world. This core provides the foundation for all the success we are now seeing.
U.S.News & World Report has included SHU in its 2016 lists of best colleges in the North, best online programs and best programs for veterans; SHU is included in the 2015-2016 College of Distinction list; the College of Nursing was named among the top 25 schools for nursing specialties by Nursing School Hub, which highlighted our home care nurse program; and our Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program is among the “Top 50 Best Value Online MSN Programs of 2015,” as determined by Value Colleges — just to name the most recent accolades we have received. In addition, many of our faculty members have been recognized nationally and internationally through honors, awards and invitations to speak at prestigious conferences.
None of these accomplishments are possible without the generous support of our donors. On behalf of all of us at SHU, I am proud to thank — and honor — every donor. I especially would like to thank the Forever Pioneers, our student philanthropy group, for continuing to raise record amounts of money toward student scholarships, academic colleges and other programs.
I invite you to browse the 2014-2015 Donor Report and meet some of the dedicated students whose hard work injects spirit into our campus. They quite eloquently explain how your gifts help them and their fellow students further their dreams. Your generosity is evident wherever you look on our growing and vibrant campus.
From everyone in the Pioneer community, many thanks for another incredibly successful fundraising year.
John J. Petillo, Ph.D.
