Faculty Brass Quintet Hosts Recital to Benefit BLUME Haiti

Organization promotes leadership skills and more through music education, performance

Sacred Heart University’s Faculty Brass Quintet hosted a special recital of classic and new music Dec. 11 in the Schine Auditorium to benefit BLUME Haiti.

This special organization works with Haitians and other international partners to develop leadership skills and other opportunities through music education and performance. The quintet’s program included Hungarian March, Suite from the Monteregian Hills, David Holsinger’s Scrappy Bumptoes Picture Cards and Ragtag Diary and the U.S. premiere of Mel Mobley’s Supplication.

The Faculty Brass Quintet includes Walker Beard on trumpet, Damon E. Coachman on trumpet, Kevin Lam on French horn, Director of Bands Keith Johnston on trombone and Jason Arnold on tuba.
